# How do I use a gift card?

A gift card works in the same way as a promotional code.

It comes in the form of a **code** to be entered at checkout, and it remains valid for **1 year from the date the gift card is sent**.

Before the **order review** step, you must enter this code in the field:

**discount code or gift card**


## How does the gift card balance work?

A gift card can be used:

* to **cover all or part of the payment** for an order;
* **partially or in full**.

For example, if you have a **€50** gift card and your order is **€20**, you can use only **€20** from that gift card on this order.

After payment, the remaining balance on your gift card will go from **€50 to €30**.
